Below this blog post is the 2nd Gen Subaru Turbo/Swap info for reference. I am retiring it to the blog post and possibly creating a new one on LegacyGT’s forum site.
How to Turbo and Swap a 2nd Gen Subaru Legacy
If you haven’t, consider swapping the engine. You might want your upgrades maximized, reliability guaranteed, and uniqueness!
Ej22 (Note: Closed deck, can reach 8 psi)
Ej25 (Note: Open deck, reliably at 6 psi)
EJ20 Twin turbo (Japan): EJ20H/EJ20R/EJ206/EJ208
(EJ20TT ISN’T A CODE FROM SUBARU, INSTEAD MORE OF USED BY ENTHUSIAST.)
Note: The second turbo interferes with the brake master cylinder and steering linkage. To swap into USDM engine with a JDM interior conversion; there is a kit to set the cylinder somewhere else, or convert to single turbo.
